From Esquel. Exit on Av. Fontana towards Laguna La Zeta, travel along the gravel route 12 km to the town of Aldea Rio Percy. After crossing a bridge over the Percy River, the mountain road begins, narrower and with greater slopes, 7 km until you reach the Estancia Huemules. Along the way you will find wooden signs with the Huemules logo to indicate the route.

This second stage of the journey does not present any major detours and ends at the Estancia gate, so it is not possible to get lost. It begins at the River crossing the Village and enters the Lenga forest as it gains altitude. When you reach the Estancia gate you will find a sign «Huemules – Reserva de Montaña». Open (and then close) the gate and continue along the path, for others 3 km. This section is almost entirely inside the forest and to get there you will have to cross two streams: the first in a curve, only a couple of cm deep and the second a few meters from our Reception. This last stream is larger, but can be crossed without major difficulties. After passing it, you will arrive at the Huemules parking lot.

In the summer season the road is accessible by any type of vehicle, although we always recommend driving at low speed, since it is irregular and winding. The travel time from the city of Esquel is between 40 minutes and an hour, first through a long valley and then entering the mountains and the Patagonian Andean forest. Getting to Huemules is already part of the experience, don't stop enjoying this stage!

Entry to Huemules is only with prior reservation, both for accommodation and for Mountain Day. In winter, prior coordination is always necessary. We offer transfers from the Airport, Esquel, Bariloche and surrounding areas. Do not hesitate to contact us to coordinate it.
